Literature: What is and What for.

When we say "Literature" we immediately think books, But literature is no longer bound to just being in a book, it can be in a newspaper, the internet or in a single piece of paper. What's important is the content and the emotions expressed by a collection of words and sentences, be it in a book or in a scratch of paper as long as it contains emotions it can be a piece of literature.

Literature is a form of art, an art expressed in words containing the thoughts, views, feelings and emotions of the writer towards life. It is generally a persons imagination crafted by his/her surroundings put into words in different forms including Novels, Poems and Short Stories. It instructs general ideas which delights both the writer and the reader. It humanizes with experiences and broad imagination enveloped in the work. Literature is an integral part of human civilization, not only does it entertain readers and help writers express themselves, it also carries with it historical facts and past situations, by analyzing a literary work one can determine the lifestyle or situation by which the work was written. Most literary works are based on real life scenarios. Literature enriches the mind, it teaches facts in life through the form of stories or sometimes a simple essay or poem. Literature enriches and delights the human mind.
